Is Taiwan a part of China?

The country popularly known as Taiwan *is* China.

In addendum: because Mao Tse-Tung and Chiang Kai-Shek were apparently fans of Romance of Three Kingdoms (合久必分、分久必合) both sides declared that there is only room for one China in the world, and since 1949, told the rest of the world that there may be two China governments in the world but officially there is only one legit one. You cannot recognize both. This worldview was re-codified in 1992 Consensus (One China Principle).
